Mijn lijstje:
Leonard Cohen (Suzanne)
Suzanne takes you down, to her place near the river…
You can hear the boats go by, you can spend the night forever
And you know that she’s half-crazy but that’s why you want to be there
And she feeds you tea and oranges that come all the way from China
And just when you mean to tell her that you have no love to give her
Then he gets you on her wavelength
And she lets the river answer that you’ve always been her lover
The Doors (the End)
This is the end, beautiful friend
This is the end, my only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I’ll never look into your eyes, again
Janis Joplin (me and Bobby McGee)
(al hoor je het honderd keer, je begrijpt niet wat ze zingt. Dus moet je de lyrics lezen):
Busted flat in Baton Rouge
Waitin’ for the train
Feelin’ nearly faded as my jeans
en vooral:
Feelin’ good was easy, Lord,
When he sang the blues
And feelin’ good was good enough for me
Good enough for me and Bobby McGee
Magna Carta (Lord of the Ages)
Lord of the Ages rode one night
Out through the gateways of time
Astride a great charger
In a cloak of white samite
He flew on the air
Like a storm
Dark was the night
For he’d gathered the stars in his hand
Ralph McTell (Streets of London)
Have you seen the old man
In the closed down market
Kicking up the papers with his worn out shoes
In his eyes you see no pride
Hands held loosely at his side
Yesterday’s paper, telling yesterday’s news
Meat Loaf (Paradise by the Dashboard Light)
[Boy:]
I remember every little thing
As if it happened only yesterday
Parking by the lake
And there was not another car in sight
And I never had a girl
Looking any better than you did
And all the kids at school
They were wishing they were me that night
And now our bodies are, oh, so close and tight
It never felt so good, it never felt so right
And we’re glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife
Glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife
C’mon, hold on tight
C’mon, hold on tight
Though it’s cold and lonely in the deep dark night
I can see paradise by the dashboard light

The End (uit de film Apocalypse now)
Heel herkenbaar Martin,de hoezen komen me ook zeer bekend voor,ik had ze ook!
En nog even uit Me and Bobby McGee het zinnetje : Freedom is just another word for nothing left to loose….
Ik associeer Blondies ” The tide is high” en Paradise by the Dashboard Light met jouw afzwaaien uit dienst!
